The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia (Kementerian Luar Negeri Republik Indonesia) built the Safe Travel app as a Free app. This SERVICE is provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at no cost and is intended for use as is.

ANDROID APPLICATION PERMISSION

When you install SafeTravel on your Android phone, you will be shown a list of permissions that the app asks for. These permission descriptions were created by Google and are worded the same for each app — at this time, SafeTravel is unable to customize them. So, to make sure you understand what features we access and what data we actually collect, we've provided a more detailed breakdown of permissions below.

1. Account on device
   This permission supports SafeTravel to fill in your email address, name and phone number during registration.
2. Contact
   This permission allows SafeTravel to select a mobile number from contacts stored on the phone to register for a temporary or permanent trip
3. Location
   • SafeTravel has the main feature of user location tracking to collect and send approximate exact location data to SafeTravel Application servers to personalize your experience using features in SafeTravel based on Country according to your location.
   • The location tracking feature in SafeTravel will always run behind the scenes every time SafeTravel is started after you grant location permissions. As for the Android Nougat operating system and below, this feature will always run every time the application runs or the application is closed after you give location permission.
   • Features that require access to your location include real-time country detection, emergency reports, chat with people around you, list of nearest RI representatives and visa status checks.
4. Camera and Storage
   This permission allows SafeTravel to get objects from the camera as well as device storage used to support various features available in the SafeTravel application
